 100% Kona coffee is one of the world's classic coffee origins. Pure Kona beans are grown by hundreds of passionate small farmers, on holdings averaging less than three acres, near the town of Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kona coffee beans are produced exclusively from trees of a traditional strain of Typica, one of the world's oldest coffee varieties. The 100% Kona coffee beans we sell are selectively hand-picked, usually by the farmers themselves, to make great Kona coffees. These premium Kona beans are wet-processed using the traditional ferment-and-wash method. The fundamental Kona coffee cup reflects this attention to detail. Pure Kona beans yield a drink with gentle, lively acidity and high-toned, clean complexity.

Our 100% Kona #1 coffee includes only beans that are well-formed and meet strict quality standards.

Pure Kona #1 beans are just one level below Kona Fancy. The No. 1 grade Kona beans are slightly smaller than those in Kona Fancy, but are nonetheless of an incredibly high quality. The beans have very few defects and uniform density.
The medium-sized #1 Kona coffee beans deliver a mild but snappy flavor. They are medium-bodied, with smooth consistency, a rich nutty aroma, and lively acidity.
